SmartOps
SmartOps is designed to offer a 'heads-up' to potential issues which have been experienced in the field by operators flying the Challenger 350 aircraft. It also brings together related ADVISORY WIRES and other published material in ONE PLACE in an understandable format that is user friendly for the flying group.
SmartOps is limited to items that affect aircraft operation, starting when the Pilots board the aircraft until the aircraft begins taxiing and after engine shutdown.
This guide is organized in a logical sequence, alphabetically and by category. In the description section of each item, it is pointed out if an item is applicable to all Challenger 350 aircraft or to a specific Challenger model. However this is not always possible, so please keep that in mind while using this information. Only Advisory Wires and any other published Bombardier documents are endorsed by the manufacturer.
NOTES:
- When the RECOMMENDED ACTION provides an AW synopsis, it is only a partial explanation of the problem and action. Refer to the actual AW for full explanation.
- Any AMM Task reference is an aid to understanding the problem more thoroughly. The task is a MAINTENANCE function only and not to be accomplished by a crew members unless a crew member is qualified to perform maintenance tasks.

These Hints and Tips are suggestions that have been developed based on the operational experience. Should any conflict with the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) or your regulatory agency be found, always defer to the AFM, AMM or respective agency.
Transport Canada Holdover Time (HOT) Guidelines
This document should be used in conjunction with Guidelines for Aircraft Ground-Icing Operations (TP 14052E, second edition, April 2005). The two documents complement each other and should be used together for a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
TP 14052 - Guidelines for Aircraft Ground - Icing Operations
TP 14052 has been generated to serve as an Aircraft Ground Icing resource to the Canadian Aviation Industry.
It is anticipated that the information contained in this TP guidance document will serve Air Operators, Airport Operators, deicing service providers, Central Deicing Facility (CDF) operators, maintenance personnel, managers, Transport Canada Operations Inspectors, and others involved in aircraft ground icing operations.

In an effort to reduce the high rate of No Fault Found (NFF) seen on Spoiler Electronic Control Units (SECU), this Advisory Wire (AW) provides Operators with a manual Latency Check procedure that can be performed following a cyan SPOILERS FAULT messages on the Engine Indication and Crew Alerting System (EICAS).
2024 - 2025 Cold Weather Operations
The presence of ice, snow, slush, or water accumulation, may have serious consequences on critical systems such as the engines, the APU, the wings, the landing gear and the sensing elements. The recommendations contained in this newsletter supplement normal procedures and will help ensure satisfactory operation of the aircraft and its systems in cold climatic conditions. In case of a discrepancy between the aircraft manuals and the recommendations in this document, the aircraft manuals prevail.
