Overview
The stabilizers have a "T" configuration and are installed on the empennage. The empennage is structurally attached to the rear fuselage. Access panels and covers give access to the flight-control for component replacement and adjustment.
The horizontal stabilizer is a one-piece adjustable-incidence stabilizer and is installed on the vertical stabilizer. An electrical trim actuator adjusts the horizontal stabilizer incidence. Two elevators are attached to the horizontal-stabilizer trailing edge and give control about the lateral axis. The vertical stabilizer is installed on the empennage and has attachment fittings for the rudder. The rudder is attached to the vertical-stabilizer trailing edge and gives control of the direction. Hydraulic power-control units (PCUs) operate the elevators and the rudder independently.
