Overview
The nacelles/pylons include engine cowls and pylons. The nacelles and pylons are part of the aerodynamic structure of the aircraft. The nacelles, installed around the engine, give access to the engine and nacelle systems, and are installed around the engine for protection from bad weather conditions. Each pylon supports a power plant and supplies the connections for the engine and control systems. In addition, the pylon supplies a firewall between the power plant and the aircraft.
