Overview

The fuel distribution system supplies fuel to the engines and to the APU.

The fuel system has two wing tanks. Each wing tank has a collector tank which supplies a constant fuel flow to the engines and APU. Fuel is supplied to the engines and APU from the collector tanks by primary ejectors and dc boost pumps operated by dc-power motors (DCMs).

If an imbalance of fuel load occurs, fuel can be transferred from one wing to the other by the boost pumps, which are connected through the wing transfer shutoff valve (SOV).

Pressure refueling and suction defueling is done through the coupling next to the refuel/defuel panel. Open vent lines, located in each wing tank, let the air flow freely in the wing tanks when refueling.
