Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Overview

The hydraulic system quick-disconnects allow maintenance personnel use ground support equipment to pressurize, drain, flush, bleed, and fill the hydraulic systems. The left and right hydraulic systems have three self-sealing, quick-disconnect couplings in the fill, pressure, and return fluid circuits. The auxiliary system has one quick-disconnect in the fill circuit. All of the pressure quick-disconnects are installed in the lower rear fuselage on two different panels. Access to the panels is through the aft equipment compartment door.

Left and Right System Hydraulic Pressure Quick-Disconnect

The pressure circuits of the two systems each contain a quick-disconnect which let maintenance personnel use external hydraulic pressure to operate the aircraft hydraulic systems. When the hydraulic ground support equipment is connected to the pressure quick-disconnect, pressurized fluid goes into the aircraft immediately before the pressure filter manifold.

Left and Right System Hydraulic Fill Quick-Disconnect

The fill lines of the left and right hydraulic systems each contain a reservoir fill quick-disconnect which let maintenance personnel add fluid to the hydraulic reservoirs. When the hydraulic ground support equipment is connected to the fill quick-disconnect, external fluid goes into the aircraft immediately before the return filter manifold. The fluid then flows into the reservoir.

Left and Right System Hydraulic Return Quick-Disconnect

When the hydraulic system is pressurized by hydraulic ground support equipment, the return quick-disconnect is used to send fluid back to the ground equipment reservoir. The return quick-disconnect lets fluid drain from the suction line of the reservoir, between the reservoir and the pumps. The fluid from the aircraft reservoir drains into the ground support equipment reservoir when the ground equipment is operated. A hose which connects the return quick-disconnect into an external container can be used if it is necessary to drain contaminated fluid from the system.

Auxiliary System Hydraulic Fill Quick-Disconnect

The auxiliary hydraulic system has a single fill quick-disconnect.This is used to add hydraulic fluid to the auxiliary reservoir. The fill quick-disconnect is installed in the aft fuselage.
