Overview
The aircraft has two main gear door systems. The main gear door system gives the aircraft a smooth surface when each main landing gear (MLG) is retracted.

Main Gear Door
The main gear door is mechanically linked to the MLG assembly and moves with the gear during extension and retraction. Each main gear door is attached to the wing structure with two hinges. The main gear door structure is made from cladaluminum alloy sheet. A drive rod and two stop fittings are attached to the door. The fittings are made from machined aluminum alloy. A nylon door brush on the bottom edge of the door makes a smooth surface when the MLG is retracted. A flexible brush seal is used to make sure the door moves freely. There is no requirement for the brush to touch the tires with the main gear retracted.
Door Linkage
The door linkage consists of a main fitting to the wing door link, main fitting/aircraft wing door link, and door link turnbuckle. When the MLG is retracted, the pivot point on the door link holds the door in the correct angular position for closure. The main fitting/aircraft wing door link, between the aircraft structure and the door link, is held on the main fitting with a door link pin.
The extended arm of the door link is attached to an adjustable door link turnbuckle. The other end of the turnbuckle is attached to the door.
