Overview

The function of the miscellaneous lighting system is to supply light to the control panels and instruments in the flight compartment, which do not have another light source, for use by the flight crew

Dome Light

The dome light is installed in the rear of the flight compartment to supply overhead lighting of the flight compartment. It is installed in the ceiling panel in front of the flight compartment door. It supplies general lighting to the flight compartment and entrance area. The dome light contains 48 light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and receives 28 VDC power from the R ESS BUS.

Flight-Crew Reading Light

The two flight crew reading lights supply a spot beam to the seats of the pilot and copilot side. They are installed on the headliner on each side of the flight compartment. Each light contains a 28 V halogen lamp unit. The flight crew reading lights have two adjustment rings to control the intensity and dimension of the lighting area. The light can be turned to a range of ± 30 degrees. The L MAIN BUS supplies 28 VDC power to the two flight crew reading lights.

Post Costomer Option C25-620

A third reading light is installed on the front panel of the LH avionic rack.

Stowage Light

The stowage light is installed on the center pedestal to supply light to the stowage area below the center pedestal. The stowage light contains LEDs. The L MAIN BUS supplies 28 VDC power to the stowage light.

System Operation

The dome light is controlled with the DOME LIGHT rotary knob on the COCKPIT LIGHTS control panel. The lighting is off when the rotary knob is at the most counterclockwise position (DIM). The lighting is at full intensity when the rotary knob is at the most clockwise position (BRT). Between these two positions, the knobs give a continuous intensity adjustment.

The flight crew reading lights are controlled with an on/off position at the most counterclockwise position on the bottom adjustment ring. The light intensity is then continuously adjustable with the bottom adjustment ring. The dimension of the lighting area is adjustable with the top adjustment ring.

The stowage light is controlled by the microswitch installed on the door of the stowage area. The stowage light comes on when the door is opened.
