Overview
The passenger compartments have a lighting system which supplies light to the entrance area as an aid to the passengers and flight crew.
The function of the entrance area lighting system is to supply light to the passenger door stairs and the entrance area of the passenger compartment.
Stair Light
The stair of the passenger door has six steps which are numbered No. 1 to 6 from the top down. The stair lighting system contains seven stair lights. Five stair lights are installed such that they supply lighting for steps No. 2 to 6. Two stair lights are installed on the adjacent structures of step No. 1 in the entrance area.
The stair lights contain four light emitting diodes (LEDs) each, and they receive 28 VDC power from the L BATT BUS.
System Operation
The lights are controlled ON and OFF by the STAIR LIGHTS switch (completion center item) usually located on the wardrobe bulkhead aft of the passenger door. The lights are also controlled by a microswitch located in the passenger door frame at FS348.50. This microswitch makes the lights go off when the passenger door is closed.
