These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Overview

The nose fuselage is found between FS195.00 and FS326.00 and includes the flight compartment. The nose fuselage structure is a typical fuselage assembly. It is made of machined and assembled frames, without stringers. Doors and panels give access to different parts of the equipment in the aircraft.

The section between FS220.00 and FS326.00 has a thermal and acoustic insulation above and below the floor. There are insulation blankets installed over, around and between the frames.

The location of the nose fuselage floor is in the flight compartment between FS250.00 and FS326.00. The nose fuselage floor is at WL91.25 and is higher than the cabin floor (WL80.00).

The floor support structure is a part of the aircraft primary structure. The floor support structure of the flight compartment is assembled with connected longitudinal beams and lateral beams made from formed aluminum alloy. The lateral beams are attached to the fuselage frames and are held by aluminum alloy posts. Intercostals are connected at right angles to the floor beams to hold the floor panels.

Nose Fuselage

The nose fuselage frame assembly at FS220.00 has hinge attachments for the radome. The forward pressure bulkhead is at FS250.00. The nose landing gear (NLG) is attached to the nose fuselage structure by two pairs of trunnions. They are installed on beams in the NLG wheel well.

The NLG forward doors are between FS220.00 and FS250.00. Two hinge fittings attach the NLG left and right forward doors to beams of the nose fuselage structure. The left door attaches to LBL13.95, and the right door attaches to RBL13.95. The hinge line for the aft door is at FS288.00 and two hinges attach the aft door to the structure.

A jack fitting is supplied to lift the nose fuselage. It is installed at the center line at the bottom of the nose fuselage at FS319.75.

The birdstrike barrier is attached at FS249.91. The communication door is on the left side of the aircraft and attaches to the nose fuselage structure with a hinge. The forward and aft access panels on the left and right side of the aircraft attach to the structure with screws.

The floor support structure is assembled with longitudinal floor beams and cross beams. Floor panels of a light weight composite material are installed on the floor structure. These floor panels can be removed. The crew seat tracks are installed in the flight compartment to the floor structure. The seat rails are installed at BL11.00 and BL25.00 on the left and right sides, between FS291.00 and FS326.00.

Nose Fuselage Floor

The nose fuselage floor is made from aluminum alloy sheets and attaches to the structure with rivets.

Flight Compartment Floor-Panel

There is a floor panel at WL80.00, below the step panel. The floor panel is between FS312.00 and FS326.00, and between LBL11.00 and RBL11.00.

This floor panel is aluminum alloy and attaches to the structure with screws.

Flight Compartment Step-Panel

There is a step panel between the crew seats at WL91.25 aft of FS312.00. The step panel opens with a latch at the top. It has a hinge along FS326.00. The front of the step panel is attached with screws at FS326.00 and can be removed.

The step panel is made from a graphite prepreg on a honeycomb core, and a glass fiber prepreg on the lower side for corrosion protection.

Flight Compartment Access-Panels

There are three access panels below the step panel. One access panel is at FS312.00 between LBL11.00 and RBL11.00. There are two access panels between FS312.00 and FS326.00. One access panel is at LBL11.00, the other one is at RBL11.00. The access panels attach to the floor structure with screws and can be removed.
