Overview
The rudder is a one-piece, airfoil-shaped structure which causes movement of the aircraft around the vertical axis. The rudder is made of aluminum alloy.
Hinge Fittings
There are three hinge fittings attached to the leading edge of the rudder. The fittings are made of machined aluminum alloy. These three fittings give six connections for the rudder and power control unit (PCU) attachments. Hinges No. 1 and No. 3 each have one hinge point for the rudder attachment. Hinge No. 2 has two hinge points for the rudder attachments and two attachment points for the PCUs.
