Overview

There are two engine mounts for each engine. They are identified as front mount and rear mount. The engine mount assemblies attach and hold the power plant on the front and rear spar of the fuselage pylon. The mounts can be on the left or right side of the power plant for installation of a left engine or right engine.

Front Mount

The front engine mount is a forged titanium yoke assembly with two parallel center links and three mount assemblies. The mount assemblies are the upper and lower clevis fitting and the middle attachment fitting. The yoke assembly is attached to the mount assemblies and the pylon with bolts, washers, and nuts. The nuts are safetied with cotter pins. The center links attach the yoke assembly to the middle attachment fitting. The center links allow the engine to move freely.

The mount assemblies are attached to the engine front frame with bolts and washers. The middle attachment fitting has a spherical bearing which allows the engine to move.

Two bonding jumpers are installed between the yoke and the middle attachment fitting to supply the electrical continuity between the engine and the pylon.

Rear Mount

The rear engine mount has two rear mount struts. Each rear mount strut has a spherical bearing at each end. These spherical bearings let the engine move.

The rear mount struts go through the engine bypass duct seal and pylon fire shield seal. These seals are replaced for each installation of the rear mount struts. Two seals are installed on each strut.

The two rear mount struts are attached to the exit guide (EGV) vane clevis and the rear spar of the pylon with bolts, washers and nuts. The nuts are safetied with cotter pins.
