R FIRE DET FAIL
(Caution)

The amber 'R FIRE DET FAIL' caution CAS message indicates the engine fire detection system has failed.

• During normal operation and stand-by modes the FIREX-CU performs a fire/overheat periodic BIT once every five (5) minutes.
• A periodic BIT consists of the following:

  1. Test detector loop open circuits
  2. Test detector loop fire/overheat detection capability - specifically continuity of each loop's center wire
  3. Test detector loop monitoring and short circuit detection circuitry - only if a loop fails the fire test
  4. Test fire & overheat warning discrete output drivers

  If one of these steps fail for the either engine, the R FIRE DET FAIL caution message will be displayed for the effected engine.
