Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. If the starter does not engage at all and the 'R STARTER FAIL' CAS message is illuminated, assure that the 28 VDC Right Essential Bus 5 amp CB CB6-A3 (R ATS/HYD SOL) is set on the A36 Right-hand DC Power Center.
  2. Verify the 28 VDC voltage is at the W4P6 pin A at the starter, (if not troubleshoot the power wire from the RH DCPC to the starter).
  3. Ring through the starter solenoid, pins A to B, there should be continuity. If not replace the starter.
  4. With W4P6 starter solenoid removed, check for a ground on pin B, should be open. Momentarily place the right-hand starter in start, a ground should be supplied to pin B of W4P6, (if not, check the wiring to the FADEC. (Channel A pin 96 connector W6P2/A40J2) (Channel B pin 96 W6P3/A42J2).
