Swap Test Standard Practice

NOTE: An important caveat to this technique is the possibility of causing further damage, while swapping component from one side to the other one.  Ensure the other side is free of failure to avoid a more complex failure scenario to troubleshoot.  Also, while swapping an electrical system component from the APU System to the Right of Left side, it is to be expected that the fault will follow onto the system it is being swapped to. Make sure that this will not induce any operational constraints.

  1. After a successful Swap Test - install both LRUs to their original positions.

    1. If fault is clear, DO NOT REPLACE LRU and do close out.
    2. If fault remains, replace defective LRU.

  2. After an Unsuccessful Swap Test - install both LRUs to their original positions.

NOTE: A successful swap test means fault is transferred or gone.
