Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Message Overview:

Message Name:

TR EHPL 5

Message Code:

B3-303820

Associated CAS:

L ENGINE FAULT
(Advisory)

Reporting LRU: L ENG TR EHPL
System Description: 78-30-00
Schematic Diagram: None
Wiring Diagram: None

Message Description:

Left engine thrust reverser EHPL fault 5.

[MCID 1432]
TR EHPL 5.
A fault in the EHPL balk indication switch, the EHPL solenoid, the harness between the EHPL and the ECU A or ECU B, or the ECU A or ECU B was sensed.

NOTE: MCID 1432 may be annunciated under certain circumstances when the EHPL is working properly. For example, if the TR fails in the deployed state while the throttle is in the reverser region, MCID 1432 will be annunciated even if the EHPL is not the source of the problem. Under these circumstances, MCID 1432 will be annunciated concurrently with, or shortly after, MCID 1801 and other fault messages such as MCID 1427, 1428, or 1463. It is recommended that if MCID 1432 occurs in combination with MCID 1801 and other fault messages, troubleshooting efforts should focus on the other fault messages first. If the problem is not resolved by troubleshooting the other fault messages, then proceed to troubleshoot MCID 1432.

Possible Causes:

  • Wiring Harness (W11)
  • Multiplexer Assembly (W8)
  • Wiring Harness (W3)
  • Wiring Harness (W6)
  • Electro-Hydraulic Primary-Lock (EHPL)
  • Electro-Hydraulic Primary Lock (EHPL) Balk Indication Switch
  • Electro-Hydraulic Primary Lock (EHPL) Solenoid
  • Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) Electronic Control Unit A (ECU) (A41)
  • Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) Electronic Control Unit B (ECU) (A43)
  • Other failures that result in a "REVERSER FAIL" CAS message while the throttle is in the reverse region

Troubleshooting Tips:

Advisory Wire/Service Bulletin: None

Forum Articles/Infoservice/Newsletter: None

NOTE: Since the EHPL could be functioning properly and this fault code could still be displayed, bleeding of the left Hydraulic System may also be attempted to clear the issue.
