Message Description:

An amber 'L FUEL PRESSURE LOW' caution CAS message indicates the left engine primary fuel feed line pressure is low.

  • The engine mounted to the inlet of the HMU and interfaces with the fuel inlet pipe. A single captive bolt provides attachment and must only be slightly loosened to allow a 90° rotation to remove the sensor from the AGB.
  • The switch is continuously BIT checked when closed. It changes state based on the gauge pressure of the fuel at the HMU inlet.
  • The ECU transmits to the DCU for amber L FUEL PRESSURE LOW message display on the EICAS when fuel feed pressure falls below to 6 psi (0.41 bars), and goes out at a fuel pressure of 8 psi (0.55 bars) and above.

Possible Causes:

  • Aircraft Fuel Pressure System
  • Inlet Fuel Pressure Switch
  • W4 Wiring Harness
  • W6 Wiring Harness
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Interrogate the MDC as follows:

    1. On the cursor control panel, ensure the toggle switch is to the right and select Anti-Ice, ECS and Fuel buttons simultaneously. The MDC main menu should now be displayed on Display Unit #3.
    2. Using the joystick, select Current Faults (if the fault is active) or Aircraft History to research stored faults. From Aircraft History you can then select Fault Message History and locate the air condition fault logged.
    3. Select the MDC fault from the drop down below to provide additional information to assist in troubleshooting.

MCID codes can be entered also, these codes are embedded in the MDC system under each equation ID # and will be displayed either way.
