AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The left hydraulics reservoir report low fluid level. Verify fluid level.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

CAUTION: Do not operate the hydraulic pumps if the unpressurized reservoir level is less than:

  • 18% for the Left Hydraulic System
  • 38% for the Right Hydraulic System
  • 41% for the Auxiliary Hydraulic System

If the instruction is not obeyed, equipment can be damaged.

  1. Perform a quantity check of the hydraulic fluid in the left hydraulic system per AMM. Service the left hydraulic reservoir as required.
  2. Service the left hydraulic reservoir per AMM as required.
  3. Bleed the left hydraulic reservoir per AMM as required.
  4. Gain access to the MDC by pushing the AICE, ECS and FUEL buttons simultaneously on the right Cursor Control Panel.
  5. Select the CURRENT SERVICE MESSAGES.
  6. Validate that the message LOW HYDRAULICS LEVEL is not displayed.
  7. If the message is posted in the MDC, proceed with the quantity indicator troubleshooting procedure.
  8. If the message is still posted in the MDC, validate that the reservoir quantity indicator is functioning properly.
    NOTE: Do not over-service the reservoir.
  9. Add or bleed hydraulic fluid from the left hydraulic reservoir and make sure that the quantity on the reservoir visual indicator and the HYD synoptic page display varies accordingly.
  10. If the quantity indication on the reservoir quantity indicator or on the HYD synoptic page does NOT vary accordingly, replace the hydraulic reservoir quantity indicator per AMM and repeat troubleshooting procedure.
