(WARNING)
RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Lighting Detection Processor has reported an internal failure or an antenna failure.

Possible Causes:

  • Lightning Detection Processor (LDU) (A77)
  • Lightning Detection Antenna (E23)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset Lighting DET Circuit Breaker CB3-E3. Is the fault message still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  2. Do wiring check between LDU (A77) and the Lighting detection Antenna (E23) for the following wires:

    Conn. A77P1 - 49 Conn. E23P1 - M
    Conn. A77P1 - 50 Conn. E23P1 - L
    Conn. A77P1 - 15 Conn. E23P1 - E
    Conn. A77P1 - 48 Conn. E23P1 - F
    Conn. A77P1 - 45 Conn. E23P1 - B
    Conn. A77P1 - 24 Conn. E23P1 - C
    Conn. A77P1 - 14 Conn. E23P1 - D
    Conn. A77P1 - 30 Conn. E23P1 - A
    Conn. A77P1 - 47 Conn. E23P1 - J

    1. If check is satisfactory, continue with next step.
    2. If check is not satisfactory, repair defective wiring.

  3. Replace LDU (A77). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the Lighting Detection Antenna (E23).
  5. Do close out.
