Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. When a Pitot-Static probe is found heating uncommanded on ground, the electrical power to the affected probe should be removed by pulling the circuit breaker CB1-E2 or CB2-E2 to prevent it from remaining heated.
  2. The affected Pitot-Static probe should be checked with a multimeter to verify if the heater elements are short circuited to ground.

    1. If an element is found short circuited to ground, replace the Pitot-Static probe.
    2. If the affected probe heater element is not short circuited to ground, continue with next step.

  3. Disconnect the Air Data Sensor (ADS) Heater Current Monitor (HCM) associated to the probe. Verify if the wiring interface between the probe and the ADS HCM is short circuited to ground.

    1. If there is continuity to ground, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If wiring checks are good, continue with next step.

  4. Replace the ADS Heater Current Monitor and do close out.
  5. Do close out.
