Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Verify the Steering Feedback link for any play.

    1. If there is play, disconnect the steering Feedback link to isolate the play.
    2. Replace any component that has play.
NOTE: The tapered pin can be swagged to eliminate play on the lever.
    3. Redo the rigging of the RVT.

  2. If there is no play, continue with next step.
  3. Jack the aircraft.
  4. Put the aircraft in a Weight-on-Wheel configuration.

    1. Verify if the Nose Steering Indicator aligns with the 0° position on the nose wheel position placard.
    2. If the steering indicator aligns with the 0° position, continue with next step, if it does not align go to step 6.

  5. On the RVT receptacle.

    1. Verify wiring between pins 1 and 2 also pins 3 and 4.
    2. Resistance should be between 127 Ω to 154 Ω.
    3. Verify wiring between pins 5 and 8 also pins 6 and 7.
    4. Resistance should be between 180 Ω to 218 Ω.
    5. If resistance value are not within tolerances.
    6. Replace RVT.
    7. After replacement of RVT go to step 9.

  6. If the steering indicator does not align with the 0° position.

    1. Mark the new position of the 0° on the Nose Steering Indicator.

  7. Remove the aircraft from the Weight-On-Wheel configuration.
  8. Lower the aircraft on ground.
  9. Carry out task 32-51-29-820-802 Rigging of the RVT or task 32-51-00-820-801 Rigging of the NWSS or task 32-51-00-820-802 Bias correction of the Steering, depending on the task to be carried out.

    1. If code 7 still showing on the 7-segment display of the SCU.
    2. Replace SCU.
