Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Four dual Linear Variable Differential Transducers (LVDT) are installed on the CL350. One dual LVDT per pedal. For each dual LVDT, one channel is for the inboard card and the other channel is for the outboard card.

The amber 'CPLT BRAKE FAULT' caution CAS message indicates one or more of the copilot's brake pedal sensors (LVDT) has failed, the copilot brakes will not work.

Possible Causes:

  • One or Both Copilot LVDTs
  • Brake Control Unit (BCU) (A67)
  • Associated Wiring

  • If the Left Outboard Copilot LVDT failed and the Left Outboard Pilot LVDT failed an "L OUTBD BRAKE FAIL" CAS will be posted.
  • If the Right Outboard Copilot LVDT failed and the Right Outboard Pilot LVDT failed an "R OUTBD BRAKE FAIL" CAS will be posted.

    • In the case were all four LVDTs above failed an "OUTBD BRAKE FAIL" CAS will be annunciated.

  • If the Left Inboard Copilot LVDT failed and the Left Inboard Pilot LVDT failed an "L INBD BRAKE FAIL" CAS will be posted.
  • If the Right Inboard Copilot LVDT failed and the Right Inboard Pilot LVDT failed an "R INBD BRAKE FAIL" CAS will be posted.

    • In the case were all four LVDTs above failed an "INBD BRAKE FAIL" CAS will be annunciated.

Download the MDC for fault isolation.

Download the BCU NVM for the Inboard Channel.
