RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Failure or problem is reported in the right HF fiber optic control.

  • Fiber optic control bus fault (Label 351 - Bit 25)

Possible Causes:

  • Right HF Transceiver (HF) 2 (A62)
  • Right HF Antenna Coupler (CP6)
  • Associated Wiring (Fiber Optic Cable)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset HF 2 Circuit Breaker CB2-B3 and HF 2 PWR Circuit Breaker CB6-A1. Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  2. Swap right HF Transceiver (A62) with Left HF Transceiver (A61). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace defective HF Transceiver.

  3. Swap right HF Antenna Coupler (CP6) with Left HF Antenna Coupler (CP5). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace defective HF Antenna Coupler.

  4. Inspect / check Optical Fiber Cables integrity as per SPM 20-51-00-02. Repair/Replace as required.
