Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The HMDG Line Contactor, located inside the HMDG Power Center, has failed during Maintenance Test.

Possible Causes:

  • Hydraulic-Motor Driven Generator Power Center (HMDGPC) (A205)
  • Generator Control Unit (GCU) - Emergency (HMDGCU) (A206)
  • Remote Date Concentrator (RDC) (A13)
  • Associated Wiring

Fault Confirmation Procedure:
  • Retry, via the Forward Maintenance Panel, by setting the Maintenance Test Switch at the HYD GEN position and pushing / holding it for at least 5 seconds.
  • Monitor the MDC Current Service Message page.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Do a wiring check of the following wires:

    From To Results
    RDC connector A13FP1 - pin G7 HMDGPC connector A205P1 - pin B
    Aircraft Ground Stud GS4214 HMDGPC connector A205P1 - pin A
    HMDG GCU connector A206P1 - pin M HMDGPC connector A205P1 - pin J
    HMDG GCU connector A206P1 - pin L HMDGPC connector A205P1 - pin K

    1. If wiring check is satisfying, go to next step.
    2. If wiring check is not satisfying, repair defective wire.

  2. Replace the HMDG Power Center (A205). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  3. Replace the Generator Control Unit (GCU) - Emergency (A206). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  4. Replace the Remote Data Concentrator (A13).
  5. Do close out.
