Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The HMDG Feeder Test has failed.

Possible Causes:

  • Generator Control Unit (GCU) - Emergency (HMDG GCU) (A206)
  • HMDG Power-Center (HMDG PC) (A205)
  • Associated Wiring

  • SB100-24-04 - MODIFICATION - EMERGENCY DC-POWER SYSTEM - Installation of the Hydraulic Motor Driven Generator (HMDG) Option (C24-300)

Fault Confirmation Procedure:
  • Retry, via the Forward Maintenance Panel, by setting the Maintenance Test Switch at the HYD GEN position and pushing / holding it for at least 5 seconds.
  • Monitor the MDC Current Service Message page.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset the HYD GEN POR Circuit Breaker CB7-1 located on the HMDG PC (A205). Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  2. Do wiring check as per the following table:

    From To Results
    HMDG conn. A206P1 - pin A HMDG PC conn. A205P1 - pin E
    HMDG conn. A206P1 - pin S Aircraft Ground

    1. If the check is not satisfactory, repair/replace the defective wiring.
    2. If the check is satisfactory, continue with next step.

  3. Do wiring check as per the following table:

    From To Results
    HMDG PC conn. A205P1 - pin E HMDG PC - STUD T1
    HMDG PC - STUD T2 HMDG PC - STUD T3

    1. If the check is not satisfactory, go to step 6.
    2. If the check is satisfactory, continue with next step.

  4. Do wiring check as per the following table:

    From To Results
    HMDG PC - STUD T2 RDCPC - STUD T7
    HMDG PC - STUD T3 LDCPC - STUD T7

    1. If the check is not satisfactory, repair/replace the defective wiring.
    2. If the check is satisfactory, continue with next step.

  5. Replace the HMDG (A206). Is the fault still present?

    1. If NO, do close out.
    2. If YES, continue with next step.

  6. Replace the HMDG PC (A205).
  7. Do close out.
