Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset the following circuit breakers with L Hyd, R Hyd and AUX Hyd pressurized.

    PRI STAB TRIM/RUD LIM CB1-B15
    SEC STAB TRIM/RUD LIM CB2-B13

NOTE: Keep circuit breakers pulled for 10 seconds.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Do Operational Test of the Rudder Travel-Limiter Actuator.

    1. If test passes, do close out.
    2. If test fails, continue with next step.

  3. Perform the Electrical Rigging of the Rudder Travel Limiter Actuator (AMM 27-22-05-820-801). Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  4. Ensure power and ground return are available at RTLA channel 2.

    1. If 28 VDC and ground return are available at RTLA connector MPE79P2, go to step 6.
    2. If 28 VDC and ground return are not available at RTLA connector MPE79P2, continue with next step.

  5. Do wiring check between RTLA connector MPE79P2, Junction Box #2 and circuit breaker CB2-B13 TRIM SEC STAB / RUD LIM. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Do wiring check between HST ECU connector A130CP1, Junction Box #2, DCU connector A14EP1 and RTLA connector MPE79P2. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.
NOTE: A short circuit created by a LRUs connected to the Position RTLA Channel 2 transmit bus may cause this fault.

  7. Do wiring check between HST ECU connector A130CP1 and RTLA connector MPE79P2. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Replace RTLA.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  9. Replace HST ECU.
  10. Do close out.
