Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Spoiler Electronic Control Unit 1 (SECU 1) has detected a Roll Spoiler OFF Switch Fault.

Possible Causes:

  • Roll Spoiler OFF Switch (SDS57)
  • GND/ROLL SPOILERS Control Panel (PL21)
  • Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit (SECU 1) (A118)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. SwapSECUs.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Perform wiring checks from GND/ROLL spoiler control panel (center pedestal) connector PL21J/P1 pin 14, 15, to SECU 1 connector A118AP1 pin 12D, 12G. PL21P/J1 pin 20 should have a hard ground.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Replace SDS57 Roll Spoiler OFF switch/GND/ROLL SPOILERS Control Panel.
  4. Do close out.
