Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Perform the Electronic Rigging of the Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Visually inspect SECU's and tray's connectors for damaged/bent contacts.

    1. If defects are found, repair/replace as required and do close out.
    2. If no defects are found, continue with next step.

  3. Interchange SECU 1 with SECU 2. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace defective SECU.
NOTE: An Electronic Rigging of the SECUs is necessary after a swap or an SECU replacement.

  4. Perform a Rigging Check of the Multi-Function Spoiler Control-Surface.

    1. If check is good, go to step 6.
    2. If check is not good, continue with next step.

  5. Perform the Rigging of the Multi-Function Spoiler Control-Surface.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Perform a wiring checks between SECU 1 connector A118AP1 and the Left Inboard Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit connector MPE37P1.

    From To  Result
    A118AP1-9J MPE37P1-7
    A118AP1-9K MPE37P1-8
    A118AP1-3G MPE37P1-9
    A118AP1-4F MPE37P1-10
    A118AP1-3H MPE37P1-11
    A118AP1-8K MPE37P1-12
    A118AP1-8J MPE37P1-13

    1. If wiring defects are found, repair defective wiring as required and do close out.
    2. If no defects are found, continue with the next step.

  7. Do RVDT( MT145) resistance checks from the SECU 1 connector A118AP1 as follows:

From SECU 1 To SECU 1  Result (Ohms)
    A118AP1-3A A118AP1-4E
    A118AP1-3A A118AP1-3B
    A118AP1-4E A118AP1-3B
    A118AP1-8D A118AP1-8C

  8. Are the result satisfactory?

    1. If YES, continue with the next step.
    2. If NO, replace the RVDT (MT145) and do the close out.

  9. Replace the Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit (PCU). You may interchange with another MFS PCU for fault confirmation (All Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Units are interchangeable).
