Message Description:
Right Inboard Multi-Function Spoiler fault detected by Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit 1 (SECU1).
Possible Causes:
- Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit 1 (SECU 1) (A118)
- Right Inboard Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit (MFS PCU) (MPE36)
- Rotary Variable Differential Transformer (RVDT) (MT144)

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Do Electronic Rigging of the Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Visually inspect SECU's and tray's connectors for damages. Repair/replace as required.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Interchange SECUs.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
NOTE: An Electronic Rigging of the SECUs is necessary after a swap or a SECU replacement.
- Do rigging check of the Multi-Function Spoiler Control-Surface.
- If check is good, go to step 6.
- If check is not good, continue with next step.
- Do rigging of the Multi-Function Spoiler Control-Surface.
- If system checks are good, do close out.
- If fault remains, continue with next step.
- Do wiring checks between SECU 1 connector A118AP1 and Right Inboard Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit connector MPE36P1. Repair/replace as required.

- Do RVDT( MT144) resistance checks from the SECU 1 connector A118AP1 as follows::
From SECU 1 To SECU 1 Result (Ohms) A118AP1-3C A118AP1-3E A118AP1-3C A118AP1-3D A118AP1-3E A118AP1-3D A118AP1-8B A118AP1-8A - Are the result satisfactory?
- If YES, continue with the next step.
- If NO, replace the RVDT (MT144) and do the close out.
- Interchange Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit. (All Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Units are interchangeable).
- Do close out.
