Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

No L-GP-5 Bus data received at Spoiler Electronic Control Unit #2 (SECU #2).

Possible Causes:

  • Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit 1 (SECU 1) (A118)
  • Input/Output Concentrator Unit (IOC) No. 1 (A4-IOC1)
  • Associated Wiring

  • Reset SECU1 circuit breaker 'SPOILER CTRL 1' CBP1-B9 if any of the inboard MFS and GS #2, #4, #5 and #7 surface indication are amber or magenta.
  • Reset SECU2 circuit breaker 'SPOILER CTRL 2' CBP2-B9 if any of the inboard MFS and GS #1, #3, #6 and #8 surface indication are amber or magenta.

NOTE: It is not permissible to cycle the SECU 1 or 2 circuit breakers in the air.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Follow the circuit breakers reset procedure documented in AW300-27-0037.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Visually inspect SECU's and tray's connectors for damages. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Swap SECUs.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.
      NOTE: An Electronic Rigging of the SECUs is necessary after a swap or a SECU replacement.

  4. Do wiring checks of the ARINC L-GP-5 data bus between SECU 1 connector A118AP1, Junction Box 2 and SECU 2 connector A119AP1. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Replace Junction Box 2.
  6. Do close out.
