Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Right Outboard Multi-Function Spoiler fault detected by Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit 2 (SECU 2).

Possible Causes:

  • Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit 2 (SECU 2) (A119)
  • Right Outboard Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit (MFS PCU) (MPE38)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Follow the circuit breakers reset procedure documented in AW300-27-0037.
  2. Do Electronic Rigging of the Spoiler Electronic-Control Unit.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Visually inspect SECU's and tray's connectors for damages. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Swap SECUs.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.
      NOTE: An Electronic Rigging of the SECUs is necessary after a swap or a SECU replacement.

  5. Do rigging check of the Multi-Function Spoiler Control-Surface.

    1. If check is good, go to step 7.
    2. If check is not good, continue with next step.

  6. Do rigging of the Multi-Function Spoiler Control-Surface.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. Do wiring checks between SECU 2 connector A119AP1 and Right Outboard Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit connector MPE38P1. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Swap Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit. (All Multi-Function Spoiler Power-Control Unit are interchangeable).
  9. Do close out.
