Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The left and right AOA measurements miscompare. Check for AOA sensor(s) drifted or uncompensated aerodynamic effect.

  • Angle-Of-Attack Sensor (RH) (A142)
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) (A178)
  • Associated Wiring

If the amber 'STALL PROTECT FAIL' caution CAS message appears after SPC power up, reset the SPC circuit breakers 'SPC CH A' (CBP1-B10) and 'SPC CH B' (CBP2-B10).

If the message appears following a PAT, then reset the SPC circuit breakers 'SPC CH A' (CBP1-B10) and 'SPC CH B' (CBP2-B10). Perform another PAT and make sure the message does not come back.

Enter the MAINTENANCE MAIN MENU. With the CCP 2, make the selection of the SYSTEM PARAMETERS page 2/2. You will be able to monitor the integrity of the R AOA vane position.

  • Move the right AOA vane to the up stop: The compensated body AOA is between 58.66 to 65.50 degrees on the MFD 2.
  • Move the right AOA vane to the down stop: The compensated body AOA is between -53.50 to -60.34 degrees on the MFD 2.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset the SPC circuit breakers 'SPC CH A' (CBP1-B10) and 'SPC CH B' (CBP2-10) and perform an SPC operational test (PAT).

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue to next step.

  2. Do wiring check between SPC and AOAs vane. Repair as required.

  3. Replace AOAs.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue to next step.

  4. Replace SPC.
  5. Do close out.
