Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The Stall Protection Computer is reporting a failure with the Stick Pusher Actuator.

Possible Causes:

  • Stick Pusher Actuator (SPA) (A181)
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) (A178)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset the following circuit breakers and perform the Pilot Activated Test (PAT) of the Stall Protection System on the Systems Test control-panel located on the center pedestal.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.
    STALL L PWR CB1-B10
    STALL R PWR CB2-B10
    STALL PUSHER CB1-B12

  2. Ensure power and ground return are available at Stick Pusher Actuator.

    1. If 28 VDC and ground return are available at Stick Pusher Actuator connector A181P1, go to step 4.
    2. If 28 VDC and ground return are not available at Stick Pusher Actuator connector A181P1, continue with next step.

  3. Do wiring check between Stick Pusher Actuator connector A181P1, STALL PUSHER PBA and circuit breaker CB1-B12 STALL PUSHER. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Ensure 'Stick Pusher' power and ground return are available at SPC.

    1. If 28 VDC and ground return are available at SPC connector A178P1, go to step 6.
    2. If 28 VDC and ground return are not available at SPC connector A178P1, continue with next step.

  5. Do wiring check between SPC connectors A178AP1 and circuit breaker CB1-B12 STALL PUSHER. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Do wiring check of the ARINC between SPC connectors A178AP1 / A178BP1 and Stick Pusher Actuator connector A181P1. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. Replace Stick Pusher Actuator.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Replace SPC.
  9. Do close out.
