Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The right DC motor pump brush wear discrete signal is active. DC motor brushes must be replaced.

Possible Causes:

  • Right DC MotorDriven-Pump (DCMP) (20 hour extension from original MDC post) (A70)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Gain access to the MDC by pushing the AICE, ECS and FUEL buttons simultaneously on the Cursor Control Panel.
  2. Select the CURRENT SERVICE MESSAGES.
  3. Validate that the message R DC MOTOR PUMP BRUSH WEAR is not displayed.
  4. If the message is posted in the MDC, proceed with the troubleshooting procedure.
  5. Pull CB1-C11.
  6. Disconnect connector A70P1 from the right DCMP. Perform a continuity check between A70 pin C and S2.

    1. If there is continuity, replace the DCMP per AMM within the next 20 flight hours (since original posting of the message in the MDC).
    2. If there is no continuity, make sure that A70P1 pin C is not grounded.

  7. If A70P1 pin C is grounded, repair wiring and repeat troubleshooting procedure.
