WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

PSEU detects an internal SHORT in the proximity sensor PX02, Left Main Landing Gear WOW1, or in the wiring to the proximity sensor is shorted to the aircraft.

Possible Causes:

  • Proximity-Sensor Electronic Unit (PSEU) (A9)
  • Left Main Landing-Gear Weight-On-Wheels 1 Proximity-Sensor (PX02)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Pull and reset the PSEU gear system breakers (CB1-C13, CB1-C14,CB2-C13, CB2-C14).

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Separate P511 and J511.
  3. Perform continuity check of LEFT MAIN GEAR WOW 1 (INBOARD) Proximity Sensor PX02 (shorted to ground = failure). Repair as required.

    From: To: Expected Results:
    PSEU P511 Pin 4 GND ∞Ω (Open)
    PSEU P511 Pin 5 GND ∞Ω (Open)

    1. If continuity checks fail, replace LEFT MAIN GEAR WOW 1 (INBOARD) Proximity Sensor PX02.
    2. Reconnect P511 and J511 and continue with next step.

  4. Does B3-007419 MDC Fault Code clear?

    1. If YES, do close out.
    2. If NO, continue with next step.

  5. Do continuity wiring check between PSEU A9AP1 and LEFT MAIN GEAR WOW 1 (INBOARD) Proximity Sensor PX02. Repair as required.

    From: To: Expected Results:
    PSEU A9AP1Pin 1B J511 Pin4 ≈0Ω
    PSEU A9AP1Pin 2B J511 Pin5 ≈0Ω

    1. If wiring checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Do continuity check of LEFT MAIN GEAR WOW 1 (INBOARD) Proximity Sensor PX02. Repair as required.
    CAUTION: Sensor resistance should be made with a meter using a < 10 mA supply of current. Never apply voltage through a sensor!
    Current will magnetize the sensor rendering it unreliable.

    From: To: Expected Results:
    PX02 P511 pin 4 P511 pin 5 11 - 13 Ω

    1. If PX02 checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. Replace PX02.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  8. Replace PSEU.
  9. Do close out.
