WHITE MESSAGE
Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

  • TSSE-4100 Application Software
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset TCAS/XPDR 1 Circuit Breaker CB1-A5. Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  2. Load the TSSE-4100 application software to the Traffic Surveillance System (TSS) External Compensation Unit. Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  3. Do wiring check between Traffic/Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and Traffic Surveillance System (TSS) Transponder Unit (A238) and the TSS ECU (A235) for the following wires:

    A238BP1 - B10 A235P1 - 9
    A238BP1 - F10 A235P1 - 2
    A238BP1 - H10 A235P1 - 5
    A238BP1 - G9 A235P1 - 7
    A238BP1 - C10 A235P1 - 8
    A238BP1 - D10 A235P1 - 4
    A238BP1 - E10 A235P1 - 3
    A238BP1 - G10 A235P1 - 6

    1. If wiring check is satisfactory, continue with next step.
    2. If wiring check is not satisfactory, repair the defective wire or the Junction Box No. 3.

  4. Replace TSS ECU (A235).
  5. Replace Traffic/Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and Traffic Surveillance System (TSS) Transponder Unit (A238).
  6. Do close out.
