(STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE
Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

  • Traffic Surveillance System (TSS) Upper Antenna (E10)
  • Traffic/Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and Traffic Surveillance System (TSS) Transponder Unit (A238)
  • Coaxial Cable
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset TCAS/XPDR 1 Circuit Breaker CB1-A5. Is the fault message still present?
    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  2. Do wiring check between TSS (A238) and the TSS Upper Antenna (E10) for the following cables:

    From To Results
    Conn. A238AP1 - 1 Conn. E10P1 - 1
    Conn. A238AP1 - 2 Conn. E10P1 - 2
    Conn. A238AP1 - 3 Conn. E10P1 - 3
    Conn. A238AP1 - 4 Conn. E10P1 - 4

    1. If check is satisfactory, continue with next step.
    2. If check is not satisfactory, repair defective cable.

  3. Replace TSS Upper Antenna (E10). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out.

  4. Replace TSS (A238).
  5. Do close out.
