RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

When niceview™ (moving map system) is selected in one or more overhead displays, the message "Terrain update required" is shown and niceview™ is not displayed.

Possible Causes:

  • No Terrain Data Available
  • Faulty Terrain Data

Required Conditions:

  1. Ensure that the nice® HD CMS/IFE system is booted up completely (wait for about 5 minutes after power on to ensure proper system status reporting).
  2. On Galley Control Panel (GCP) navigate to home, CMS equipment page, select item "system software" and ensure the aircraft MSN is contained in "current p/n" (e.g. for Challenger C350, MSN 20613: p/n SCDC350-20613-A or p/n SCDC3-20613-04A).
    Note: If p/n is incorrect, contact CRC for further instructions.
  3. Tools required: see Software Load Procedure for nice® HD on CL350 (C-ABR142-UG-001), section TOOLS FOR NICEVIEW™ TERRAIN DATABASE UPDATE.
