Message Overview:
Message Description:
The red 'L BATT OVERHEAT' warning CAS message indicates that one of the battery temperature sensor have sense a temperature greater than or equal to 70°C.
- If both Left Battery Temp Sensors are sensing a over-temp, the following will occur:
- EFIS Summary and Electrical Pages indicate high left battery temperature.
- The left battery contactor opens for overheat protection, and amber 'L BATT FAIL' caution message appears on the CAS.

- Electrical System Component(s)
- Left Battery (LBATT) (BT1)
- Remote Data Concentrator (RDC) (A13)
- Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:
- Check for other ATA 24 CAS Messages on EICAS and proceed with respective troubleshooting prior to continue with next step.
- Do wiring check of the following wire:
From To Results LBATT conn. BT1P2 - pin C RDC conn. A13AP1 - pin 13F LBATT conn. BT1P2 - pin D RDC conn. A13AP1 - pin 13E - If check is not satisfactory, repair/replace defective wire.
- If check is satisfactory, continue with next step.
- Swap Left Battery (BT1) with Right Battery (BT2). Is the fault still present?
- If NO, replace defective Battery.
- If YES, continue with next step.
- Replace Remote Data Concentrator (A13).
- Do close out.
