Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Flap Control Unit (FCU) detected a mismatch between control and monitor channel Alternate Supply Select discrete inputs. Check wiring and Flap Alternate Supply Select Switch.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset circuit breakers CB1-B13 FLAP L IND, CB1-B14 FLAP CTRL and CB2-B12 FLAP R IND/CTRL.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If problem remains, continue to next step.

  2. Reset the FCU by pressing the FCU reset button on the MAINTENANCE TEST control-panel. If unable to reset, engage the Alternate Flaps button with the left hydraulic system pressurized, and attempt another reset using the Flap Reset switch on the left galley.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Check the wiring integrity between FCU and Flap Alternate Supply Select Switch per AWM.
  4. Repair wiring as necessary per SPM.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If problem remain continue to next step.

  5. Check the Flap Alternate Supply Select Switch integrity by operating the switch and check for open circuit or continuity as per AWM.

    1. If faulty, replace the switch.
    2. If system checks are good, do close out.
    3. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. If fault remains, replace FCU.
  7. Do close out.
