Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Pull the HST ECU breaker CB1 - B15, and CB2 - B13, reset after a couple seconds. This will re-boot the HST ECU.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Re-rig the pitch trim system.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  3. Do wiring checks between #1 motor wiring, Motor Control Unit and Horizontal Stab #1 motor. Repair as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Do wiring checks between HSTA primary motor and HST ECU. Repair as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Do wiring checks between HSTA primary motor and MCU. Repair as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Do wiring checks between HST ECU and MCU. Repair as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  7. Check Motor coil values. Pins D to A, D to B = 0.16 to 0.20Ω.

    1. If resistance is out of tolerance, go to step 13.
    2. If resistance is within tolerance, continue with next step.

  8. Check RVDT primary winding resistance values. Pins 7 to 8 = 30 to 40Ω.

    1. If resistance is out of tolerance, go to step 13.
    2. If resistance is within tolerance, continue with next step.

  9. Check RVDT Secondary winding values. Pins 9 to 10, Pins 10 to 11, and Pins 11 to 9 = 113 to 150Ω.

    1. If resistance is out of tolerance, go to step 13.
    2. If resistance is within tolerance, continue with next step.

  10. Check RVDT Excitation values at Pins 7 to 8 = approximately 5 VAC.

    1. If voltage is out of tolerance, go to step 14.
    2. If voltage is within tolerance, continue with next step.

  11. Swap relay K44 with relay K45.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  12. Replace HST ECU.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  13. Replace Primary motor.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  14. Replace MCU.
  15. Do close out.
