Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

The right stick shaker fails over-current or under-current tests or the shaker output is shorted to ground.

Possible Causes:

  • Right Stick Shaker (A180)
  • Stall Protection Computer (SPC) (A178)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Reset the following circuit breakers and perform the Pilot Activated Test (PAT) of the Stall Protection System on the Systems Test control-panel located on the center pedestal.

    STALL L PWR CB1-B10
    STALL R PWR CB2-B10
    STALL L SHKR CB1-B11
    STALL R SHKR CB2-B11

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  2. Ensure power from circuit breaker CB2-B11 STALL R SHKR and ground are available at SPC connector.

    1. If 28 VDC and ground are available, go to step 4.
    2. If 28 VDC and/or ground are not available, continue with next step.

  3. Do wiring check between circuit breaker CB2-B11 STALL R SHKR and SPC connector A178BP1. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  4. Do wiring check between SPC connector A178BP1 and Copilot Stick Shaker connector A180P1. Repair/replace as required.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  5. Swap Stick Shakers ensuring torque specifications for mounting bolts are followed.

    1. If system checks are good, do close out.
    2. If fault remains, continue with next step.

  6. Replace SPC.
  7. Do close out.
