CMS niceTouch DRM update

When replacing an LRU or updating the cabin software Configuration Sever Database (CSDB), the DRM requires to be reloaded.

A recent change made by Apple to its operating system iOS 14 results in a loss of capability to connect to the internet via the USB Personal Hotspot. This Apple change makes the affected devices unusable to update the DRM-keys via USB tethering.

1. Ensure the nice® HDsystem is booted up completely (power on and wait for about 5 minutes to ensure proper system status reporting).
2. On Galley Control Panel (GCP) navigate to home, cms equipment page, item "system software" and ensure the aircraft MSN is contained in "current p/n" (e.g. for Challenger C350, MSN 20613: p/n SCDC350-20613-A or p/n SCDC3-20613-04A).
   NOTE: If p/n is incorrect, contact CRC for further instructions.
3. Tools required: see Software Load Procedure for nice® HD on CL350 (C-ABR142-UG-001), section TOOLS FOR NICEVIEW™ TERRAIN DATABASE UPDATE.
4. For DRM update the following equipment is required:

   • cell phone with internet access and appropriate USB cable
   • an active USB hub, with external power supply (COTS)

When replacing an LRU or updating the cabin software Configuration Sever Database (CSDB), the DRM requires to be reloaded.

   - Ethernet Decoder Unit (EDU)
   - Ethernet Encoder Unit (EEU)
   - Ethernet Interface Unit (EIU)
   - Passenger Core Module (PCS)
