RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Passenger Control Monitor displays Blu-ray Player Warning/Update Message (shown message depends on Blu-ray disc inserted).

350-44-10-blu-ray_player_drm_error

Possible Causes:

The inserted Blu-ray disc uses a new Copy Protection, which cannot be decoded by the currently installed or available System Software.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Ensure that the CMS/IFE system is booted up completely (wait for about 5 minutes after power on to ensure proper system status reporting).
  2. On Galley Control Panel (GCP) navigate to CMS equipment page, select item "system software" and the Software P/N contained in "current p/n" (e.g. for Challenger C350, MSN 20613: p/n SCDC350-20613-A or p/n SCDC3-20613-04A).
  3. Write down the displayed "current p/n" which represents the installed Software P/N.
  4. Contact the Bombardier Customer Response Center (CRC) and report the displayed Blu-ray Player message on displays and the noted Software P/N (take picture if possible).
  5. The CRC will provide further instructions and information if a Software update can fix this issue.
    NOTE: For Information on updated CSDB, please refer to the Bombardier CIC webpage (https://customer.aero.bombardier.com/cic/public), technical library, Service Bulletins for Challenger 350 (Info Sheet Document 350-44-001).Respective Lufthansa Technik "Engineering Bulletin Component" (EBC) documents are provided on this page as well.
    The last letter of the P/N represents the revision of the Software (The higher this letter the newer the revision). This way it can be double-checked if a newer Software has already been officially published.
