Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

Bulkhead Monitor (LCD) or Passenger Seat Display (PSM) displays moving dots.

Possible Causes:

  • Video stream can not be cached due to:

    • Missing Video Stream
    • Missing or wrong Digital Rights Management (DRM) key at stream source
    • Missing or wrong DRM key at sink unit (display)
    • System LRU
    • Stream Source - Blu-ray Disk Player (BDP) or Ethernet Encoder Unit (EEU)
    • Stream Sink - Ethernet Decoder Unit (EDU)
    • Ethernet Routing
    • Associated Wiring

Required Conditions:

  1. Ensure the nice® HD system is booted up completely (power on and wait for about 10 minutes to ensure proper system status reporting).
  2. On Galley Control Panel (GCP) navigate to home, cms equipment page, item "system software" and check the aircraft MSN is contained in "current p/n" (e.g. for Challenger C350, MSN 20613: p/n SCDC350-20613-A or p/n SCDC3-20613-04A).
    NOTE: If p/n is incorrect, contact CRC for further instructions.
  3. Check if special requirements apply and ensure necessary tools are available in reference to Software Load Procedure for nice® HD on CL350 (C-ABR142-UG-001), chapter 3. e.g.: DRM update requires internet connection.

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. On the Galley Control Panel (GCP), navigate to home, CMS equipment page and look at the system status.
  2. If system status is reported "ready", proceed with step 2.
  3. If another system status than "ready" is reported, follow the appropriate procedure.
  4. In case a DRM logo is displayed in the upper right corner, follow the appropriate procedure ("GCP displays DRM-logo on equipment page").
  5. Assign a source video signal (i.e. BDP video) to LCD and a PSM and check if it is displayed correctly.
  6. If source video signal is not displayed correctly on LCD and PSM, check the source and follow the appropriate troubleshooting procedure.
  7. If source video signal is not displayed correctly on LCD or PSM, check the wiring interface between the affected components. Pay close attention to the routing of the harness.
  8. If source signal is displayed correctly, continue with next step.
  9. Do close out.
