Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Check proper operation of the Left Batt PBA (SDS45) by cycling the switch ON/OFF few times while a multimeter is connected between LDCPC connector A35P2 pin p and LDCPC connector A35P2 pin q.
NOTE: Battery PBA (switch) is a momentary type switch and contacts are normally open. To complete the circuit path the switch must be depressed and held while checking for continuity.

R BATT PBA SWITCH STATE EXPECTED RESULTS RESULTS
    Push & Hold Close Continuity
    Release Open No Continuity

    1. If the check is satisfactory, continue with next step.
    2. If the check is not satisfactory, replace the Right Batt PBA (SDS45) or repair the defective wiring as required.

  2. Interchange Left BATT PBA with Right BATT PBA. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step
    2. If NO, replace defective BATT PBA.

  3. Interchange Left BATT DIODE PCB21 with Right BATT DIODE PCB20. Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step
    2. If NO, replace defective BATT DIODE PCB.

  4. Interchange Left DC Power-Center Primary-Logic (PCB3) with Right DC Power-Center Primary-Logic (PCB4). Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace defective DC Power-Center Primary-Logic.

  5. Disconnect the Left Battery Contactor (K73) connector and the Left DCPC Battery-Diode Printed-Circuit Board (PCB21) connector located in the Left DC Power Center (A35). Do visual inspection of the connectors and associated wiring for any loose pins and/or damaged wire.

    1. If inspection is satisfactory, continue with next step.
    2. If inspection is not satisfactory, go to next step.

  6. Verify Left Battery Contactor (K73) coils by measuring the resistances at the contactor connector (J-side) as per the following table:

    Coils Expected Values Results
    Pin 1 and Pin 2 (Pick-up) between 4.5? and 6.5?
Pin 2 and Pin 3 (Hold) between 260? and 280?

    1. If the verification is satisfactory, continue with next step.
    2. If the verification is not satisfactory, replace the defective Battery Contactor.
NOTE: It is important to not skip this verification before proceeding with the interchange during next step. A short of one of the 2 coils will result with a blowing of a fuse on the Left DC Power-Center Primary-Logic (PCB3).

  7. Interchange the Left Battery Contactor (K73) with the Right Battery Contactor (K74). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace the defective Battery Contactor.

  8. Check the wiring between the L BATT PBA (SDS45) and the L DCPC Connector A35P2.

    1. If the verification is satisfactory, continue with next step.
    2. If the verification is not satisfactory, repair/replace the defective part.
NOTE: Pay close attention to identifying any intermittent shorts between pins 'p' and 'q' at A35P2, Check proper ground at A35P2 pin z and check PL14P/J1, J/P227, J/P275, J/P603, GS4109, A35P2 for push back and/or bent pins.

  9. Replace the Electrical System Control Panel (PL14) Is the fault still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, do close out

  10. Replace Left DC Power Center (A35).
  11. Do close out.
