RED MESSAGE (CAUTION)
AMBER MESSAGE (ADVISORY)
CYAN MESSAGE (STATUS)
WHITE MESSAGE Require immediate crew attention. These messages are accompanied by flashing master warning, triple chime attenson with or without voice message or dedicated tone. Require immediate crew awareness and future crew action may be required in the form of alternate system selection or performance limitation. These message are accompanied by flashing master caution and a single chime. Indicate safe or normal system operation which require crew awareness, over and above the dark cockpit philosophy. Indicate minor failures or reduction in systems capability, which require no crew action.

Message Description:

A failure with the Left Battery Monitoring Sensor or the Left Protection PCB has been reported by the Left DC Power Center.

Possible Causes:

  • Left Battery Sensor (MCS3) (MPE073)
  • Left DC Power-Center Protection (LPROT) (PCB1)
  • Left DC Power Center (LDCPC) (A35)
  • Associated Wiring

Troubleshooting Recommendations:

  1. Disconnect the Left Battery Sensor (MPE073) connector located in the Left DC Power Center (A35). Do visual inspection of the connector and associated wiring for any loose pins and/or damaged wire.

    1. If inspection is satisfying, continue with next step.
    2. If inspection is not satisfying, go to step 4.

  2. Interchange Left Battery Sensor (MPE073) with the Right Battery Sensor (MPE074). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace the defective Battery Sensor.

  3. Interchange the Left DC Power-Center Protection (PCB1) with the Right Power-Center Protection (PCB2). Is the fault message still present?

    1. If YES, continue with next step.
    2. If NO, replace the defective DC Power-Center Protection.

  4. Replace Left DC Power-Center (A35).
  5. Do close out.
