Overview

Note:
The Teleprinter/Facsimile system is available via SB 700-23-004 for Global Express/XRS and SB 700-1A11-23-001 for Global 5000.

The flight compartment printer supplies the printed data from the airborne data-link system and the central aircraft information and maintenance system (CAIMS).

The flight compartment printer is used for pre-flight and in-flight activities to print the pilot's selection of flight compartment messages and weather data sent to it through the airborne data-link system. The flight compartment printer is also used during maintenance activities to print maintenance data and other information from CAIMS. Used by the two systems, the flight compartment printer has two connectors, one for the PMAT interface and a second connector for the airborne data-link system inputs and for the flight compartment printer power input. It is a thermal dot matrix printer, that can give alpha-numeric text at a speed of more than 300 lines per minute.

Flight Compartment Printer

The flight compartment printer provides an interface with an ARINC 429 to the airborne data-link system and a parallel interface from the PMAT. The flight compartment printer operates on DC Bus 1. LRU power and bezel lighting power are provided on dedicated pins on the same connector with ARINC 429 inputs.

Note:
The flight compartment printer will give unsatisfactory quality printout if it is operated below −20 degrees.

Caution:
Some printer internal mechanisms could become damaged if power up is done below −40 degrees.
