Overview
The lights system provides all the required internal, external and maintenance areas (APU bay, etc.) illumination, including the emergency lighting.
Internal lighting is provided to the flight compartment for flight instruments and general compartment lighting. Lighting is also provided to the passenger compartment for passenger comfort and safety.
External lighting is used for aircraft identification, and to illuminate landing and taxi areas. In addition, there is lighting in service areas to facilitate aircraft servicing.
The lighting system components operate independently of each other. Different DC buses, AC buses and battery buses supply power to the system. When power is not available, internal batteries supply power to essential lighting systems.
