Overview
This section describes the equipment/furnishing in the flight compartment, passenger compartment, galley, lavatories, baggage compartment, emergency, and accessory compartments.
The flight compartment contains the control panels, flight controls, flight crew seats, the oxygen system and oxygen masks. It is the area where the pilot and copilot control the aircraft.
The passenger compartment internal configuration and finish can be different for each aircraft. There is a fold down seat for the crew mounted on the bulkhead.
The cargo compartment is where the passengers bags and other objects are kept. It is also referred to as the baggage compartment.
The emergency locator system automatically transmits a radio signal when there is a crash. This signal helps the search and rescue operation. The emergency locator system has an emergency locator transmitter (ELT), antenna and remote control. The ELT is installed in the baggage compartment.
Portable flashlights are installed in the flight compartment on the pilot’s and copilot’s side console. There is one flashlight for the pilot and one for the copilot. A crash axe is part of the emergency equipment installed in the flight compartment.
The accessory compartments contain different components and accessories. These include the electrical, electronic equipment and main battery structure.
Aircraft insulation is thermal acoustic. It retains heat and decreases noise in the flight compartment, the passenger compartment, and the baggage compartment. Insulation is found above and below the floors and on the doors and windows.
