Overview

The flight compartment supplies the pilot and copilot with a good work area that is easily used. It also can have an optional seat for one more person. This seat can be put in the center of the flight compartment, aft of the flight crew seats. The flight compartment is between FS202.75+32.00 and FS280.00+32.00 for Global 5000 and between FS202.75 and FS280.00 for Global Express/XRS.

In flight crew seats, each seat has an inertia reel control, two inertia reels and safety straps, and a quick release buckle. Each seat has a pouch for maps, on the rear, and a pouch for a safety vest, below the seat.

The flight crew seats can also be adjusted to the side. The pilot's seat can move to the right, the copilot's to the left.

In flight compartment panels, the headliner is the ceiling panel. It seals the aircraft structure on the top of the flight compartment. The rudder-pedal panels are installed around the pilot's and copilot's rudder pedals. There is a left, right, and front panel to prevent damage to the rudder pedal area. A panel is also installed above the rudder pedals.

The heated floor mats supply more heat to the pilot and copilot at floor level. There are four heated floor mats, one on each side of the control column. The mats have a thermal switch which prevents an overheat condition that can cause a fire. Scuff plates are on top of the heated floor mats to prevent damage to them. The pilot and copilot can select and control the temperature from the electrical management system, control display unit (EMS CDU).
